Here are some of the top events, festivals, and attractions to experience this summer.
Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park
Summer 2026
A summer trip to Pittsburgh isn't complete without a game at PNC Park. Widely regarded as one of the most scenic stadiums in baseball, the ballpark pairs views of the downtown skyline with the yellow steel of the Roberto Clemente Bridge. Catching a Pittsburgh Pirates game is one of the city's classic summer traditions.
Since Pittsburgh lives for its sports teams, we make it easy to turn game day into a full weekend getaway. Skip the stadium parking hassle entirely by staying downtown and walking right across the bridge to the gates. Before you buy your tickets, check out our Game Day Getaway package to lock in special perks designed specifically for fans heading to the North Shore.

July 3 – July 19, 2026
This summer, Acrisure Stadium on the North Shore transforms into an official FIFA World Cup Fan Zone for the tournament's high-stakes knockout rounds. Thousands of fans will gather to cheer on the world's best teams, with the unique opportunity to watch the matches on giant stadium screens right from the field and the stands. Beyond the games, the family-friendly zone will feature local food lineups, entertainment, and interactive activities throughout the two-week run.
America250 Celebrations
Summer 2026
As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary, Pittsburgh is marking the occasion with special events, concerts, exhibitions, and community celebrations throughout the summer.
Point State Park will host the America250PA Commonwealth Concert featuring Nelly, Third Eye Blind, and Pittsburgh's own FRZY, while Fourth at the Fort brings Revolutionary-era reenactors, historical demonstrations, and a ceremonial flag raising to the Fort Pitt Block House.
You'll also find America250 programming throughout the city, from special events at the Heinz History Center to live music and festivities in Market Square.
Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix
July 11 – July 19, 2026
Schenley Park becomes a temporary racetrack this July for the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix (PVGP). As the only vintage race run entirely on public city streets in the United States, this event challenges drivers with a historic 2.3-mile, 22-turn circuit. The grand finale weekend shifts the action to the fairways of the Bob O'Connor Golf Course, combining high-speed racing with massive, sprawling car shows.
Picklesburgh Festival
July 16 – July 19, 2026
Few summer events are as uniquely Pittsburgh as Picklesburgh. This free, four-day festival takes over the iconic Sister Bridges footprint in Downtown Pittsburgh to celebrate the city's most famous condiment. Expect a massive lineup of pickle-inspired foods, local craft cocktails, and live music. Just remember to look up during your visit to snap a photo with the giant, signature Heinz pickle balloon floating above the bridges.
